Storage Administrator SAN / NAS / Clearance required - relo available

Direct hire.  This is not a temp to perm or temp opening.  Seeking mid to Senior-level Storage Administrator.  Location is Ogden, UT. Must be US Citizen and have minimum interim Secret clearance  If you do not have a clearance, client can attain an interim Secret for you.  Pay up to $95,000 a year with full benefits but would depend on experience. CompTIA Security+ certification required prior to start.  Relocation candidates will also be considered.

Project/Contract Overview:

Background.  The DISA Computing Ecosystem requires sustainment support in the east region. SEL3 maintains and sustains storage, virtualization, change, and configuration capabilities in an operationally effective and efficient manner in support of DISA’s data centers and mission partners.  DISA and its Mission Partners requires centralized information system processing services to a diverse and geographically dispersed customer base of Department of Defense (DOD) agencies, to include: Joint Commands; all military services and departments; other governmental and non-governmental agencies. DISA’s mission depends on a successful, well-maintained operation of a diverse group of state-of-the-art hardware components and interconnected sub-systems.

Objectives.  The objective of our work at DISA is to provide technical, administrative, and Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Library (ITIL) functionality to support Department of Defense (DoD) Mission Partners and internal DISA customers.  This requirement involves the following: provide senior storage administration support for general storage configuration and management functions for NIPRNET and SIPRNET.
Technical Duties and Functional Responsibilities:
  1. Storage Architecture: provide architect support and design of disk and backup storage for connection to Government resources.
    1. design solutions using SAN arrays.
    2. design SAN array solution documents.
    3. design SAN Fiber Channel switched solution documents.
    4. design NAS devices solution documents.
    5. design storage tape device solution documents.
    6. design cloud storage hardware solution documents.
    7. design enterprise backup solution documents.
    8. design enterprise journaling solution documents.
    9. Provide configuration recommendations/guidance to mission partners.
       
  2. Storage Configuration and Management Guidance: apply the following industry best practices when providing recommendations
    1. SAN array configuration and management best practices.
    2. SAN Fiber Channel switches configuration and management best practices.
    3. NAS devices configuration and management best practices.
    4. Storage tape devices configuration and management best practices.
    5. Cloud storage hardware configuration and management best practices.
    6. Enterprise backup configuration and management best practices.
    7. Enterprise journaling configuration and management best practices.
       
  3. Storage Configuration and Management: perform configuration and management of disk and backup storage for connection to Government resources.
    1. Configure and manage SAN arrays.
    2. Configure and manage SAN Fiber Channel switches.
    3. Configure and manage NAS devices.
    4. Configure and manage storage tape devices.
    5. Configure and manage cloud-based storage hardware.
    6. Configure and manage enterprise backup solutions.
    7. Configure and manage enterprise journaling solutions.
       
  4. Storage Monitoring, Reporting, and Analysis: perform monitoring, reporting, and analysis of disk and backup storage for connection to Government resources.
    1. Provide capacity planning reports on storage and backup environments, identifying total storage, percent used, and percent free on each storage system.
    2. Monitor hardware status and open tickets for repair.
    3. Troubleshoot and resolve problems associated with and/or negatively impacting storage and backup operations.
    4. Monitor storage and backup operations and report on health status, following established Ecosystem process.
    5. Perform analysis of allocated capacity and the association to servers and applications.
    6. Create documentation for new processes and procedures the contractor implements.
    7. Maintain current documentation associated with storage processes/procedures.
       
  5. Storage Tuning: tune disk and backup storage for connection to Government resources.
    1. Use DISA Enterprise Standard Monitoring Tools monitoring tools to detect errors and performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
    2. Evaluate Operation Systems, Databases, and applications and provide tuning guidance to maximize storage and backup performance.

Job Requirements, Skills, and Certs:
  1. Must have either Interim Secret or Secret based on SSBI/T5 Investigation for IT-1 Level Access and;
  2. Possess an 8570 CompTIA Security + certification or higher to start work
  3. Education and years of experience:
    1. Bachelors degree in Science, Engineer, Math, or Technology and 10 years of experience in an Information Technology environment and 5 years of experience installing/maintaining a Storage or Backup environment, utilization of required software, tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software
                  OR
    2. Associates degree in Science, Engineer, Math, or Technology and 13 years of experience in an Information Technology environment and 5 years of experience installing/maintaining a Storage or Backup environment, utilization of required software, tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software
                  OR
    3. 15 years of experience in an Information Technology environment and 5 years of experience installing/maintaining a Storage or Backup environment, utilization of required software, tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software
