Direct hire. This is not a temp job. Seeking Linux System Administrator. Cloud, scripting and/or VMware experience highly desired. Pay up to $85,000 a year with full benefits, but would depend on experience. Location is Montgomery, AL. Must be US Citizen in order to attain interim Secret clearance to start. Must have Security+ cert to start. Relocation available.
Objectives. The objective of our work at site is to provide technical, administrative, and Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Library (ITIL) functionality to support Department of Defense (DoD) Mission Partners and internal customers. This requirement involves the following: provide Cloud engineering support for Linux-based infrastructures for NIPRNET and SIPRNET.
Technical Duties and Functional Responsibilities:
1. Cloud Middleware administration
a. Install, configure, and manage middleware components of technologies used within cloud computing service and infrastructure.
b. Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems throughout the infrastructure.
c. Install, configure, and manage network, security platform, and all associated system components.
d. Update patch levels and security postures of all middleware components.
e. Create and maintain templates to be used to gain efficiencies in the deployment of virtual operating environments.
f. Collaborate with the Program Office, analysts, engineers, mission partner development teams, and DISA infrastructure services to define, establish, and communicate application and data architecture standards, policies, and directions.
g. Provide Service Request (SR) review and analysis to include investigation of recent SR reports, SR filing, SR tracking, SR reporting, and recommendations designed to minimize future SRs.
h. On-Board customers, to include registering and configuring new middleware inventory.
i. Develop, update, and maintain automation and scripts
2. Cloud Web Services Administration
a. Install, configure, and manage web server cloud technologies used within cloud computing service and infrastructure.
b. Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems throughout the environment.
c. Update patch levels and security postures of all web server components.
d. Develop and test cloud web services technology upgrade plans and documentation.
e. Develop and maintain processes and procedures documentation.
f. Provide support and lead troubleshooting activities and problem resolution relating to customer applications using frameworks.
g. On-board customers.
h. Monitor heath of the web server components to ensure optimization.
3. Cloud Architecture Design and Engineering
a. Design, develop, implement, utilize, and conform to enterprise cloud architecture application solutions, strategies, processes, and standards, focusing on expertise in cloud technologies.
b. Collaborate with the Program Office, analysts, engineers, mission partner development teams, and DISA infrastructure services to define, establish, and communicate application and data architecture standards, policies, and directions.
c. Design cloud architectures as well as drive architecture activities.
d. Provide engineering guidance and Subject Matter Expertise on all Cloud technologies to mission partners on Virtual Data Center integration and external Cloud resources.
e. Design and implement mission partner high availability features in the Cloud.
f. Assist mission partners with Cloud portal familiarization and Cloud specific technologies.
g. Design engineer solutions for mission partner Cloud networking, configuration, and communication of enterprise security services and customized databases.
4. Incident Management Ticket Reporting
a. Tickets assigned within 24 hours.
b. Tickets updated according to priority with low priority tickets updated within 7 days, medium priority tickets updated within 72 hours, and high priority tickets updated every 2 hours.
c. Ticket updates are detailed and understandable to audiences.
d. Routine storage tickets should be completed and resolved within 72 hours of ticket assignment.
e. Report should outline a summary by Branch, Section, and then by team member.
f. Each FTE will be assigned and work an average of 40 incident tickets per month.
Job Requirements, Skills, and Certs:
1. Must have either Interim Secret or Secret based on SSBI/T5 Investigation for IT-1 Level Access and;
2. Possess an 8570 CompTIA Security + certification or higher to start work
3. Education and years of experience:
a. Bachelors degree in Science, Engineer, Math, or Technology and one year of experience installing/maintaining cloud infrastructure, utilization of required software tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software
b. Associates degree in Science, Engineer, Math, or Technology and three years of experience installing/maintaining cloud infrastructure, utilization of required software tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software
c. Five years of experience installing/maintaining cloud infrastructure, utilization of required software tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software
