PaaS Cloud System Administrator

 Overview:
Direct hire.  This is not a temp to perm or temp opening.  Seeking PaaS Cloud System Administrator.  Location is at Montgomery, AL.  Interim Secret or Secret clearance required.  Pay up to $85,000 a year with full benefits but would depend on experience. Required to pass CompTIA Security+ certification exam within two months of start date .Relocation candidates will also be considered.  This position is available immediately.

Technical Duties and Functional Responsibilities:
task 1 - Middle ware Support: The contractor shall provide Cloud Middle ware administration. The contractor shall:
  • Install, configure, and manage middle ware components of technologies used within cloud computing service and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems throughout the infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and manage network, security platform, and all associated system components.
  • Test and install patches and update security postures of all middleware components.
  • Create and maintain templates to be used to gain efficiencies in the deployment of virtual operating environments.
  • Collaborate with the Program Office, analysts, engineers, mission partner development teams, and DISA infrastructure services to define, establish, and communicate application and data architecture standards, policies, and directions.
  • Provide Service Request (SR) review and analysis to include investigation of recent SR reports, SR filing, SR tracking, SR reporting, and recommendations designed to minimize future SRs.
  • On-Board customers, to include registering and configuring new middleware inventory.
  • Develop, update, and maintain automation and scripts.
 
task 2 - Cloud Web Services Administration: The contractor shall provide Cloud web services administration. The contractor shall:
  • Install, configure, and manage web server cloud technologies used within cloud computing service and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems throughout the environment.
  • Update patch levels and security postures of all web server components.
  • Develop and test cloud web services technology upgrade plans and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures documentation.
  • Provide support and lead troubleshooting activities and problem resolution relating to customer applications using frameworks.
  • On-board customers.
  • Monitor health of  the web server, app servers, and databases to ensure optimal operations
 
task 3 - Cloud Architecture Design and Engineering: The contractor shall perform Cloud architecture design and engineering support. The contractor shall:
  • Design, develop, implement, utilize, and conform to enterprise cloud architecture application solutions, strategies, processes, and standards, focusing on expertise in cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Program Office, analysts, engineers, mission partner development teams, and DISA infrastructure services to define, establish, and communicate application and data architecture standards, policies, and directions.
  • Design cloud architectures as well as drive architecture activities.
  • Provide engineering guidance and Subject Matter Expertise on all Cloud technologies to mission partners on Virtual Data Center integration and external Cloud resources.
  • Design and implement mission partner high availability features in the Cloud.
  • Assist mission partners with Cloud portal familiarization and Cloud specific technologies.
  • Design engineer solutions for mission partner Cloud networking, configuration, and communication of enterprise security services and customized databases.
 
 
Job Requirements, Skills, and Certs:
  1. Must have either Interim Secret or Secret based on SSBI/T5 Investigation
  2. Required to pass CompTIA Security+ certification exam no later than the end of July .
  3. Education and years of experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and one year’s experience installing/maintaining cloud infrastructure, utilization of required software tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software.
  2. Associate's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and three years' experience installing/maintaining cloud infrastructure, utilization of required software tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software.
  3. Five years' experience installing/maintaining cloud infrastructure, utilization of cloud PaaS software tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software.
